LRA Attacks Increase in 2012

IPN member, LRA Crisis Tracker, has just released their mid-year security brief which covers LRA attacks from January to June 2012. According to the report, LRA attacks in the analysis period has risen sharply from the latter half of 2011. 

According to LRA Crisis Tracker data, killings from LRA attacks increased by 73 % in comparison with the latter half of 2012.  The 190 attacks resulted in 38 reported killings and 311 abductions. On average at least one civilian was killed during an LRA attack. Attacks were concentrated in the Central African Republic. In addition to CAR, the report covers attacks in  DRC, Sudan and South Sudan, where the LRA remains active.
